As a fully volunteer-run organization, the growth in popularity of our events throughout Michigan, increased overall participation, and the need to provide accurate player count and pairings to host courses as soon as possible, we have implemented the following policies.
Late Registration Policy: Registrations made within four (4) days prior to the start of a tournament may be subject to a $25 late registration charge to sign up. Our online registration links will be updated to include this additional charge beginning Monday/Tuesday the week of each event. Players are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible, particularly as some events have experienced waiting lists in recent years. We will continue to make efforts to publish 1st Round pairings as early as possible and hope this policy will allow us to improve that timing.
Withdrawal Policy: Player withdrawal requests made prior to the publishing of tournament pairings will be issued a full refund (net of any transaction fees incurred). Withdrawals after pairings are posted but prior to the day of the event may be eligible for a 50% refund depending on our agreement with host courses and player count commitments. No refunds will be issued thereafter.
Rain Check Policy: If a round of a tournament is rained out or cancelled due to weather, we will make efforts to reschedule or conduct the event over as many holes as possible; however any “rain checks” or credit for unplayed rounds are not the responsibility of WMGA.
NOTE: The WMGA only runs WMGA tournaments, which include – Spring Best Ball, West Michigan Amateur, City Match Play, Kent County Amateur, City Stroke Play, RedWater Cup, District Tournament, and Fall Scramble/Best Ball.
